Tribunal awards over $24,000 for anti-Semitic workplace harassment, discriminatory termination, and threat of reprisal.
The applicant, a delivery driver, alleged discrimination in employment based on his Jewish ancestry and creed, as well as reprisal.
The Tribunal found that the applicant's supervisor subjected him to anti-Semitic slurs, threatened him, spat on him, and fired him, creating a poisoned work environment.
The corporate respondent was held liable for the supervisor's actions.
The Tribunal also found that the personal respondent threatened reprisal by stating he would report the applicant to the government if he pursued a human rights claim.
The applicant was awarded $22,250.05 for lost income and injury to dignity against the corporate respondent, and an additional $2,000 against both respondents jointly and severally for the threat of reprisal.
