The Ontario Land Tribunal held a second Case Management Conference regarding an appeal by Worldwide Properties (Alliston) Inc. concerning the Town of New Tecumseth's failure to approve site plans for a proposed commercial development within the statutory timeframe.

The parties requested an adjournment to allow the appellant to submit outstanding functional servicing, stormwater management, and erosion control documents, and for the Town to review them.

The Tribunal directed the appellant to use reasonable best efforts to submit the documents by June 20, 2025, and scheduled a third Case Management Conference for September 17, 2025.

The appellants appealed the City of Toronto's failure to make a decision on a zoning by-law amendment application to permit a 69-storey residential building.

The parties reached a settlement.

The Tribunal accepted uncontroverted expert planning evidence that the proposed transit-oriented development is consistent with provincial policy, conforms to the City's Official Plan, and represents good planning.

The Tribunal allowed the appeal in part and approved the zoning by-law amendment in principle, withholding its final order pending the satisfaction of several conditions including the execution of a rental housing demolition agreement.

The Tribunal held a Case Management Conference regarding appeals for a proposed industrial warehouse development.

On consent of the parties, the Tribunal ordered an amendment to the procedural timelines in the previously issued Procedural Order, changing the date by which parties must advise if all hearing dates are needed.

The parties requested on consent to amend the procedural timelines contained in the Procedural Order issued on December 13, 2024.

The applicant appealed the City of Toronto's failure to make decisions on applications for an official plan amendment, zoning by-law amendment, and site plan control to permit a mixed-use development with two residential towers.

Following a settlement between the parties, the Tribunal held an uncontested written hearing.

Based on uncontested planning evidence, the Tribunal allowed the official plan and zoning by-law appeals in part on an interim basis, withholding its final order until several pre-requisite conditions, including finalization of the instruments and securing affordable housing, are met.

The site plan appeal was adjourned sine die.

A case management conference was held to schedule the Phase 2A and Phase 2B hearings regarding appeals for a proposed 21-storey residential development in the City of Vaughan.

The Tribunal scheduled a 10-day Phase 2A hearing to address natural heritage and hazard land issues, and a 10-day Phase 2B hearing for remaining planning issues.

The Tribunal also approved the Procedural Order and Issues List on consent of the parties.

The applications seek to permit a 40-storey mixed-use building with 536 residential units.
