The member, a teacher, was found guilty of professional misconduct by the Discipline Committee of the Ontario College of Teachers.
The member acted as the sole director of a company used by his brother to defraud the school board of ticket sale revenues from a stage production.
The member also received payment for a music resource document that was largely plagiarized and unusable.
The Committee found the member guilty of failing to maintain the standards of the profession and engaging in conduct unbecoming a member.
The member's teaching certificates were suspended for one year, held in abeyance on conditions including payment of a $3,000 fine and $5,000 in costs.
