The Registrar issued a Notice of Proposal to suspend the liquor licence of Mounties' Restaurant, alleging the licensee permitted drunkenness and failed to facilitate an inspection.
The Board dismissed the allegation of permitting drunkenness, finding the bartender did not serve the intoxicated patron and was attempting to remove the patron's beer when police arrived.
However, the Board found the licensee failed to facilitate an inspection because the bartender left in charge did not have a key to the locked liquor storage area, preventing police from inspecting it.
The Board invited written submissions on the appropriate penalty.
