Teacher's certificate revoked for professional misconduct after being found in possession of child pornography.
The Ontario College of Teachers brought a discipline proceeding against a member for possessing and accessing child pornography.
The member did not attend the hearing.
Evidence showed the member admitted to police that he had an addiction to pornography and possessed images of pre-pubescent girls on his computer.
The Discipline Committee found the member guilty of professional misconduct, concluding his actions were disgraceful, dishonourable, and unprofessional.
The Committee ordered the immediate revocation of the member's teaching certificate and directed that a summary of the decision be published with his name.
