Teacher's certificate revoked after pleading no contest to sexual abuse and inappropriate relationship with student.
The Ontario College of Teachers brought disciplinary proceedings against a member for professional misconduct and sexual abuse of a student.
The member pleaded no contest to allegations that he initiated and conducted an inappropriate personal and sexual relationship with a student, which included inappropriate communications, physical contact of a sexual nature, and overnight stays at his home.
The Discipline Committee accepted the agreed statement of facts and found the member guilty of professional misconduct.
The Committee ordered the revocation of the member's teaching certificate and directed publication of the decision with the member's name, denying his request to delay publication.
