The Member, a secondary school teacher, faced allegations of professional misconduct for his involvement in the improper administration of the Grade 10 Ontario Secondary School Literacy Test (OSSLT).
Following the instructions of his Principal, the Member reviewed incomplete test booklets and assisted in calling students back to the office to finish them after the test had concluded, contrary to EQAO rules.
The Member pled guilty to professional misconduct, including failing to maintain the standards of the profession and engaging in disgraceful, dishonourable, or unprofessional conduct.
The Discipline Committee accepted a joint submission on penalty, ordering a reprimand and requiring the Member to complete a course in ethical practice.
