The Criminal Injuries Compensation Board conducted a review of the applicant's ongoing periodic payments for uninsured medical and treatment expenses.
The applicant had been receiving $1,000 per month pursuant to previous variation orders.
After reviewing the submitted invoices and receipts for chiropractic, physiotherapy, and massage therapy, the Board determined that the applicant's actual expenses averaged approximately $297.65 per month.
Consequently, the Board exercised its discretion under section 25 of the Compensation for Victims of Crime Act to vary the order, reducing the periodic payments to $400 per month.
