The Ontario College of Teachers held a discipline hearing regarding allegations of professional misconduct against the member, who did not attend.
The member had previously pleaded guilty to criminal charges of indecent assault against a 10-year-old student over a four-year period and was sentenced to 18 months in prison.
Based on the uncontested evidence, including testimony from the police detective and the victim, the Discipline Committee found the member guilty of professional misconduct.
The Committee ordered the revocation of the member's certificate of registration and teaching certificate, and directed the publication of the decision and the member's name.
