The appellants appealed the City of Toronto's proposed Official Plan Amendment No. 231.

On consent of the parties and based on the uncontested planning evidence of the City's expert, the Tribunal approved modifications to OPA 231 redesignating certain employment areas to Regeneration Areas.

The Tribunal found the modifications consistent with provincial policies and good land use planning, resolving the specific appeals while retaining jurisdiction over outstanding matters.

The applicant appealed the City of Cambridge's failure to make a decision on applications for an Official Plan Amendment and Zoning By-law Amendment to permit the development of three two-storey townhouse units.

Prior to the hearing, the parties reached a settlement.

The Tribunal accepted uncontested expert planning evidence that the proposed development represents appropriate residential intensification, conforms with provincial and municipal planning policies, and constitutes good planning.

The Tribunal allowed the appeals in part and approved the amendments in accordance with the Minutes of Settlement.

The Ontario Land Tribunal held a first Case Management Conference for appeals by Magnum General Contracting Inc. regarding the Township of Scugog's failure to make a decision on Official Plan and Zoning By-law Amendment applications.

The applications seek to permit a 78-unit townhouse development.

The Tribunal granted participant status to Kawartha Conservation, directed the parties to file a Draft Procedural Order, and scheduled a five-day merit hearing for August 2024.

At a Case Management Conference regarding appeals for an Official Plan Amendment and Zoning By-law Amendment to permit a 43-storey mixed-use development, the Tribunal granted party status to St. Michael's Hospital.

The Tribunal also approved the Procedural Order and Issues List, and scheduled a ten-day video hearing.

The applicant sought approval of revisions to a Draft Plan of Subdivision and Draft Plan Conditions, and the issuance of a final order for an Official Plan Amendment and Zoning By-law Amendment, following a 2014 Ontario Municipal Board decision.

The Tribunal accepted uncontested expert planning evidence that the revisions, which removed phasing requirements due to secured servicing allocation and addressed municipal and conservation authority comments, represented good planning.

The Tribunal approved the revised Draft Plan of Subdivision and Conditions and issued the final order.

The appellants appealed a Director's Order issued by the Ministry of the Environment, Conservation and Parks regarding sewage works.

Following a case management conference, the Ontario Land Tribunal approved the Procedural Order and Issues List and scheduled a five-day video hearing on the merits.

The Tribunal also determined the order of evidence, directing the appellants to present their case first.

The applicant appealed the Township's failure to make a decision on applications for a Zoning By-law Amendment and a Plan of Subdivision to permit a 59-unit residential subdivision.

At the third Case Management Conference, the parties requested to convert the previously scheduled hearing into a CMC to allow more time for settlement discussions.

The Tribunal granted the request, approved an updated Procedural Order and Issues List, and scheduled a new 7-day video hearing for May 2024.

The Applicant appealed the Town's refusal of an application to amend the Zoning By-law to permit the construction of a single detached dwelling and a dock closer to the shoreline.

At a Case Management Conference, the Tribunal granted party status to an adjacent landowner, Steven Page, on consent of the Town and over the Applicant's objection.

The Ontario Land Tribunal held a first Case Management Conference regarding appeals by the applicant against the municipality's failure to make decisions on Official Plan Amendment, Zoning By-law Amendment, and Site Plan applications for a proposed mixed-use development.

The Tribunal considered 22 party status requests and four participant status requests from local residents.

With the consent of the parties, the Tribunal converted all party status requests to participant status requests and granted participant status to 27 individuals.

A second Case Management Conference was scheduled to allow the municipality time to receive instructions from its council.

This was a status hearing before the Ontario Land Tribunal regarding two claims for land compensation under the Expropriations Act.

The Tribunal confirmed a 15-day hearing on the merits and ordered the claims to be heard together.

This was a concurrent Case Management Conference regarding appeals of an Official Plan Amendment and a Zoning By-law Amendment for the expansion of a place of worship in the Greenbelt Plan Area.

The Tribunal ordered that the appeals be heard together, as they involve the same applicant, subject property, and proposed development.

The Tribunal also directed the removal of Natural Heritage matters from the Issues List because the appellants did not intend to call expert witnesses to address them.

A further Case Management Conference was scheduled.

The Town of Caledon passed an Interim Control By-law extension to prohibit development while completing transit planning studies.

The appellant appealed the extension as it applied to its property, where it proposed an industrial development.

The parties reached a settlement to exempt the property from the by-law.

The Tribunal endorsed the settlement, finding on uncontested planning evidence that the proposed development was consistent with provincial policies and municipal official plans, and would not negatively impact the major transit station area.

The applicant appealed the municipality's failure to adopt an official plan amendment and zoning by-law amendment to permit a 177-unit high-density residential development.

The threshold issue was whether the lands should be re-designated and re-zoned for residential uses given an existing oversupply of residential lands in the municipality.

The Tribunal found that the site-specific redesignation of the fully serviced, shovel-ready infill property was appropriate and an efficient use of under-utilized land, despite the oversupply.

The Tribunal ordered the appeal to move forward to a full hearing.
