The College of Nurses of Ontario brought professional misconduct allegations against the member, a registered nurse, for incidents occurring between 2015 and 2017.
The allegations included making racist comments to a vulnerable patient, failing to assess patients, failing to administer and document medications, leaving a shift early without providing a report, and failing to maintain constant observation of an unpredictable patient.
The member did not attend the hearing.
The Discipline Committee found that the member committed multiple acts of professional misconduct that were disgraceful, dishonourable, and unprofessional.
Given the seriousness, repetitive nature of the conduct, and lack of evidence of remediation or remorse, the Committee ordered the immediate revocation of the member's certificate of registration and a reprimand.
