Horse trainer suspended and fined $125,000 after withdrawing appeals of positive drug test rulings.

William Robinson agreed to withdraw his applications for judicial review and appeals regarding multiple rulings by the Ontario Racing Commission, including positive drug tests for horses.

In accordance with the agreement, the Commission ordered Robinson to serve multiple suspensions totaling over two years and pay fines totaling $125,000, along with $5,000 in costs.

Standardbred trainer Guy Gagnon appealed penalties issued against him and applied for a stay.

Following previous stays and an adjournment, a panel of the Ontario Racing Commission heard the application on October 30, 2003, and ordered the penalties stayed until February 20, 2004.
