The Registrar of the Alcohol and Gaming Commission of Ontario issued a Notice of Proposal to suspend a liquor licence based on alleged violations of the regulations.

Following a hearing, the Board found that the licensee breached the regulations by permitting an intoxicated patron to remain on the premises and by purchasing beer off licence.

The allegation regarding a third violation was dismissed at the Registrar's request.

The Board invited written submissions on sanction.

The applicant, operating as Molly Bloom's Irish Pub, applied to the Alcohol and Gaming Commission of Ontario for additional licensed areas and to remove a condition on its liquor licence.

The Registrar issued a Notice of Proposal to review the application due to objections from local residents.

The applicant sought to expand its patio capacity and modify conditions related to patio use, citing changes in circumstances including a change in ownership and new smoking legislation.

The Board found that the changes in circumstances justified the removal and modification of the condition.

The application was opposed by one local resident who expressed concerns about potential noise.

The Board found that there had been a significant change in circumstances since the conditions were imposed, including support from the municipality and immediate neighbours, as well as the presence of other unrestricted licensed establishments nearby.

The Board approved the application and removed the two conditions.

The Member appealed the revocation of its membership in the Vintners Quality Alliance Ontario.

The revocation followed two Provincial Offences Act convictions for selling mislabelled wine and subsequent audits revealing continued non-compliance.

The Board found the Member violated section 10 of the VQA Act and upheld the membership revocation, noting the bylaws mandate revocation upon conviction and continued contravention.

The Registrar of the Alcohol and Gaming Commission of Ontario issued a Notice of Proposal to suspend the liquor licence of the respondent establishment for alleged violations of the Liquor Licence Act and its regulations.

The parties submitted an Agreed Statement of Facts admitting that patrons removed liquor to an unlicensed area, drunken patrons were permitted on the premises, and the outdoor deck was over capacity.

Based on a Joint Submission on Disposition, the Board ordered a 12-day suspension of the liquor licence and added a condition requiring a uniformed security person at the front door on Friday and Saturday nights.

The Board found the licensee breached section 29 and subsection 25(1) of Ontario Regulation 719/90 and ordered a 7-day suspension of the liquor licence.

The application to transfer the liquor licence was denied.

The Registrar of the Alcohol and Gaming Commission of Ontario issued a Notice of Proposal to suspend the liquor licence of Castelo Sports Bar Inc. for alleged violations of the Liquor Licence Act and its regulations.

Following an Agreed Statement of Facts, the licensee admitted to obstructing an inspection, failing to facilitate an inspection, permitting a person to remove liquor from the licensed premises, and allowing an unauthorized person behind the bar.

The Board accepted the joint submission and ordered a 15-day suspension of the liquor licence, along with a condition that the door to the unlicensed basement area remain unlocked while patrons are in the licensed area.
