The applicants appealed a decision by Tarion Warranty Corporation denying their claim regarding a defective heating system in their new home.

The builder recently made repairs to the system, but due to warm weather, the applicants had not been able to evaluate their effectiveness.

The Licence Appeal Tribunal dismissed the appeal without prejudice due to a lack of post-repair evidence, and ordered Tarion to warrant the current heating system repairs until March 1, 2013.

The Ontario College of Teachers brought disciplinary proceedings against a member for alleged impropriety involving a student.

The member denied the allegations but offered to resign from the College and undertook never to teach again in the public or private system due to his age and infirmities.

The Discipline Committee accepted the Agreed Statement of Facts, Agreement and Undertaking, permitting the member to resign and directing the College to withdraw the Notice of Hearing.

The Committee ordered that a notation be placed on the Register reflecting the resignation and the member's undertaking.
