Detention Order continued for NCR accused with amended community privileges and broadened geographic restrictions.
The Ontario Review Board held an annual review hearing for an accused found not criminally responsible for attempted murder, assaulting a peace officer, and uttering threats.
The Board found that the accused, who suffers from schizoaffective disorder, continues to pose a significant threat to public safety due to a history of medication non-compliance and the potential for violent recidivism if untreated.
The Board ordered the continuation of the Detention Order with amended privileges, including indirectly supervised passes into the community of Southern Ontario for up to 48 hours, and broadened the geographic restriction around family members to 500 metres.
