Several neighbours opposed the expansion, citing concerns over traffic, noise, loss of green space, and privacy.
The Tribunal accepted the expert land use planning evidence that the proposal meets matters of provincial interest, is consistent with the Provincial Planning Statement, and satisfies the four tests under section 45(1) of the Planning Act.
The appeal was allowed and the variances were approved.
