The Ontario Review Board conducted an annual review for an accused previously found not criminally responsible for various violent offences.
The accused suffers from Bipolar Mood Disorder and Cannabis Use Disorder, with a history of medication non-adherence and recent use of illicit substances.
Based on the uncontradicted expert evidence and a joint submission, the Board concluded the accused continues to present a significant threat to public safety.
The Board ordered a continued detention disposition, with care formally transferred to the Royal Ottawa Mental Health Centre, and modified travel privileges.
