The Member, a Registered Practical Nurse, faced allegations of professional misconduct for attempting to force an elderly client with dementia to take medications without consent, resulting in an assault.
The Member had previously pled guilty to criminal assault and received a conditional discharge.
At the discipline hearing, the Member admitted to the allegations and agreed to permanently resign from the College.
The Discipline Committee found the Member committed professional misconduct and, accepting a joint submission, ordered a reprimand, noting that a suspension was unnecessary given her permanent resignation.
