The College of Nurses of Ontario brought discipline proceedings against a Registered Practical Nurse for multiple incidents of professional misconduct while working in a targeted engagement and diversion program.
The Member failed to document patient care, ignored calls for assistance, failed to secure a medication cart, delayed responding to overdose situations, and failed to assess a patient who later died.
The Discipline Committee found the Member committed professional misconduct and engaged in disgraceful, dishonourable, and unprofessional conduct.
The Member's certificate of registration was suspended for seven months, with conditions imposed upon her return to practice.
