In a professional discipline hearing, the Tribunal found that a former registrant sexually and physically abused a patient during a single massage therapy appointment by non-consensual touching of sensitive areas, removal of underwear, exposure of genitals, improper draping, and sexually charged conduct and remarks.
The Tribunal held that the former registrant remained subject to its jurisdiction despite resigning during the investigation.
It further found multiple breaches of standards of practice, including consent, draping and physical privacy, prevention of sexual abuse, and professional boundaries, as well as disgraceful, dishonourable or unprofessional conduct.
Mandatory revocation and reprimand were imposed, together with therapy-funding reimbursement, security, and costs.
