The Member, a teacher, was convicted of sexual exploitation of a minor under the Criminal Code and sentenced to five months' incarceration.

The Discipline Committee of the Ontario College of Teachers held a hearing in the Member's absence.

Relying on the criminal conviction, the Committee found the Member guilty of professional misconduct for failing to maintain the standards of the profession and engaging in disgraceful, dishonourable, or unprofessional conduct.

The Committee ordered the revocation of the Member's teaching certificate.

The Ontario College of Teachers brought disciplinary proceedings against a member following his criminal convictions for sexual assault and common assault against two minors.

The member did not attend the hearing.

Relying on the criminal court records, the Discipline Committee found the member guilty of professional misconduct for failing to maintain the standards of the profession, contravening laws relevant to his suitability to teach, and engaging in disgraceful, dishonourable, and unprofessional conduct.

The Committee ordered the immediate revocation of the member's Certificate of Qualification and Registration, and directed that the decision be published in summary without identifying the member to protect the victims' identities.
