Records relating to Family Support Plan garnishment proceedings are exempt under the law enforcement exemption.
The appellant sought access to records related to garnishment proceedings against him held by the Family Support Plan Branch of the Ministry of the Attorney General.
The Ministry denied access to certain pages under the law enforcement exemption in section 14(1)(a) of the Freedom of Information and Protection of Privacy Act.
The Inquiry Officer upheld the Ministry's decision, finding that the enforcement of a support deduction order is an ongoing law enforcement matter and that disclosure could reasonably be expected to interfere with it.
