[ 1 ] I granted a motion for default judgment in this matter on January 5, 2026. I noted in my endorsement that "[t]he plaintiff sought no costs, and none are ordered."

[ 2 ] By letter dated January 13, 2026, counsel for the plaintiff advised that the failure to seek costs was inadvertent. They now seek costs. The Bill of Costs is not well-prepared. It fails to give a total amount sought for time, or disbursements. Having reviewed it, the plaintiff appears to seek approximately $6,000 on a partial indemnity scale, including HST, as well as disbursements of $832.10 plus HST of $93.35.

[ 3 ] I fix costs in the amount of $5,000 inclusive of disbursements and costs.
