CASE CONFERENCE ENDORSEMENT

[1] The parties have reached a proposed settlement of this class action. At the case conference I was provided with copies of the Short Form and Long Form Notice that they plan to use to notify class members of the settlement and of the upcoming settlement approval motion.

[2] The forms and means of notice proposed by counsel are, in effect, the same as those used to notify the public and the class of the certification order: see Rizzi v. Handa, 2019 ONSC 1802, at para 5.

[3] I was satisfied with the forms of notice and the means of communicating the notice at the certification stage, and I approve of the proposed forms of notice and means of communicating the notice now.

[4] Once the notice has been disseminated, the next stage is the settlement approval hearing. That has now been scheduled for February 5, 2021.
