REASONS FOR DECISION - COSTS

A. Introduction

[1] In this wrongful dismissal action, Gary West brought a motion for a default judgment against Mex Precision Wire Corporation, his former employee.

[2] I granted Mr. West an award of $79,300 for wrongful dismissal plus pre-judgment interest of $2,985.16 plus $10,000 for aggravated damages for a total judgment of $92,285.16 plus costs on a partial indemnity basis to be assessed. [1] I directed Mr. West to make his costs submissions within 10 days of the release of these Reasons for Decision.

[3] Mr. West requested costs of $13,687.13 inclusive of HST on a partial indemnity basis plus disbursements $907 for a total request of $14,594.13.

[4] Having reviewed the costs outline, I grant $10,000, all inclusive.
