1The plaintiff, Hakim Optical, which was wholly successful in this motion rendered April 25, 2017, seeks its costs on a substantial indemnity basis in the total amount of $13,941.12. Its partial indemnity costs amount of $10,821.31.
2In general, costs are awarded to the successful litigant and are intended to indemnify the successful party for some of its costs incurred.
3I have reviewed the bill of costs submitted by Hakim Optical and find it to be reasonable and proportionate. I have taken into consideration the factors set forth at Rule 57.01 of the Rules of Civil Procedure.
4The plaintiff, Hakim Optical, is entitled to its partial indemnity costs in the amount of $10,821.31, all-inclusive, payable forthwith by the responding party, Helen Phillips.
