SUPPLEMENTARY ENDORSEMENT
[ 1 ] My initial judgment in this matter of earlier today provided judgment in favour of the plaintiffs against the defendants, Melvin and Rose Melanson, jointly and severally in the amount of $57,314.40.
[ 2 ] Subsequent to the release of my judgment, plaintiffs’ counsel has very appropriately written to me seeking a further endorsement addressing pre-judgment interest on the judgment amount.
[ 3 ] The Statement of Claim herein was issued on July 6, 2007 and included a claim for pre-judgment interest in accordance with the Courts of Justice Act .
[ 4 ] The plaintiffs are entitled to pre-judgment interest as claimed. As such, the plaintiffs shall also have judgment against the defendants, Melvin and Rose Melanson, jointly and severally for pre-judgment interest at the Courts of Justice Act rate of 4.5% on the judgment amount of $57,314.40 commencing July 6, 2007.
