[1] The motion for leave to appeal the order and the supplemental order of Akazaki, J. each dated May 30, 2025 is granted.
[2] The Moving Parties also bring a motion to stay Justice Akazaki’s orders pending appeal. Those orders were made under the mistaken belief that the Moving Parties and The Royal Bank of Canada had been served with Handel Edwards’ motion in writing for the release of funds. In these circumstances, it is ordered that no further payments shall be made to Handel Edwards under those orders pending appeal.
[3] Costs of the leave to appeal motion and the stay motion are in the discretion of the appeal panel.
