[1] Having regard to the gravity and seriousness of the offences, the very high degree of moral blameworthiness attributable to the appellant, the appellant’s failure to deal with his long-standing alcohol problem, his failure to comply with court orders and his not insignificant criminal record, we are of the view that while the global sentence was a substantial one, it was not manifestly excessive.
[2] Accordingly, while we would grant leave to appeal, we would dismiss the appeal against sentence.
