This matter came on for hearing before a panel of the Discipline Committee (the “Committee”) on September 20, 2018 at the Ontario College of Teachers (the “College”) at Toronto and continued on September 21, 2018.
Matthew Francis Chong Yen (the “Member”) was self-represented but he was not in attendance during the hearing.
DECISION
Having considered the evidence, onus and standard of proof, and the submissions of College Counsel, the Committee finds that the Member engaged in acts of professional misconduct as alleged, contrary to Ontario Regulation 437/97, subsections 1(5), 1(15), 1(18) and 1(19).
PENALTY
The Committee received submissions with respect to penalty on September 21, 2018 and has reserved its decision. A written decision with reasons will follow.
