The College of Nurses of Ontario brought discipline proceedings against a registered nurse for professional misconduct while employed at two group homes.

The Member failed to keep adequate records, failed to ensure a vulnerable patient received adequate meals and medications, and failed to provide sanitary living conditions.

The Member did not attend the hearing.

The Discipline Committee found that the Member committed professional misconduct by breaching standards of practice, abusing the patient physically and emotionally, and engaging in disgraceful, dishonourable, and unprofessional conduct.

The Committee ordered an oral reprimand and the immediate revocation of the Member's certificate of registration.
