The worker objected to a Case Manager's decision denying initial entitlement for a cervical injury following a workplace accident where they lifted a heavy heat exchanger.

The Appeals Resolution Officer found that while the worker had a significant pre-existing cervical condition, the workplace accident exacerbated the C8 nerve compression.

Applying the WSIB's Aggravation Basis policy, the officer allowed the objection in part, granting entitlement for the exacerbation on an aggravation basis and remitting the issue of ongoing benefits to the Operating Area.
