The worker, a 45-year-old farm worker who suffered an amputation of his left ring finger, appealed a decision granting him a 2 per cent non-economic loss (NEL) award.
The worker argued for a higher award based on a medical report assessing a 5 per cent whole person impairment.
The Appeals Resolution Officer reviewed the medical evidence and the American Medical Association Guides to the Evaluation of Permanent Impairment.
The Officer concluded that the evidence did not support a permanent functional impairment greater than the 2 per cent already awarded.
The appeal was dismissed.
