The applicant, Homestead Land Holdings Limited, applied to the Committee of Adjustment for minor variances to permit the development of a 25-storey apartment building as a Planned Unit Development.
The requested variances included reductions in private way width and setbacks, as well as an increase in the width of a double traffic lane.
The Committee found that the unopposed application met the four-part test under subsection 45(1) of the Planning Act, as the variances were minor, desirable for the appropriate development of the land, and maintained the general intent and purpose of the Official Plan and Zoning By-law.
The application was granted.
