Lamer J. ‑‑ We are all of the view, for the reasons given in this Court's decision in R. v. Vermette, 1987 51 (SCC), [1987] 1 S.C.R. 577, that these appeals should be allowed and the convictions handed down by the Superior Court judge restored.
