RANDALL WAPLES

Standardbred owner/driver/trainer Randall Waples (H4139) appealed Judges' Ruling Number SB 29588 wherein he was fined $600 for violation of Rule 25.09 of the Rules of Standardbred Racing for failing to fulfill his driving engagements in six races on June 23, 2003, at Woodbine Raceway.

On November 26, 2003, Vice-Chair Larry Todd and Commissioners Brenda Walker and Bernard Brennan, DVM, of the Ontario Racing Commission convened to hear the appeal.

Gerald Sternberg appeared on behalf of Mr. Waples and Don Bourgeois appeared on behalf of the Administration.

Upon hearing the evidence of Gary Cahill and Randall Waples, upon reading the exhibits and upon hearing the submissions of the parties, the Ontario Racing Commission granted the appeal.
