PATRICK HUSBANDS
Thoroughbred jockey Patrick Husbands appealed Stewards' Ruling Number 2003-107 wherein he was fined $500 for violation of Rule 9.01 of the Rules of Thoroughbred Racing for failing to persevere with his mount OUT AT HOME during the running of the 1st race on May 7, 2003 at Woodbine Racetrack.
On November 26, 2003, Vice-Chair Larry Todd and Commissioners Brenda Walker and Bernard Brennan, DVM, of the Ontario Racing Commission convened to hear the appeal.
Dan McMahon appeared on behalf of Mr. Husbands and Don Bourgeois appeared on behalf of the Administration.
Upon hearing the evidence of Nelson Ham and Patrick Husbands, upon reading the exhibits and upon hearing the submissions of the parties, the Ontario Racing Commission granted the appeal.
