On July 31, 2003, Chair Stanley Sadinsky Q.C. convened to hear teletheatre licence applications from Rideau Carleton Raceway and Woodbine Entertainment Group via teleconference from Toronto.
Reg MacFarlane represented Rideau Carleton Raceway from Ottawa, Ontario. Tom Papakonstantinou represented Woodbine Entertainment Group from Rexdale. Manager of Information Services Wendy Hoogeveen represented the Administration in Toronto.
Upon hearing the submissions, the Ontario Racing Commission approved teletheatre licences as follows:
Licensee: Rideau Carleton Raceway
Site: 325 Montreal Road, Ottawa, Ontario
Site Operator: Rideau Carleton Raceway., known as RCR Off-Track Betting
subject to receipt of the final building inspection documents and to advising the Administration of the opening date.
Licensee: Woodbine Entertainment Group
Site: 4394 Steeles Avenue, Unit 14/15, Markham Ontario
Site Operator: 1435117 Ontario Limited, known as Select Winners Lounge (2003),
subject to receipt of the liquor licence and new photographs, and to advising the Administration of the opening date.
The Ontario Racing Commission cancelled the teletheatre licence as follows:
Licensee: Woodbine Entertainment Group
Site: 4394 Steeles Avenue, Unit 13, Markham Ontario
Site Operator: 1435117 Ontario Limited, known as Select Winners Lounge (2003),
Effective the date the 4394 Steeles, Unit 14/15 site opens.
