IN THE MATTER OF THE RACING COMMISSION ACT, 2000, S.O. 2000, c. 20;
AND IN THE MATTER OF AN APPLICATION FOR TELETHEATRES
On April 16, 2002, Chair Stanley Sadinsky Q.C. convened to hear a teletheatre licence application from Flamboro Downs Raceway for a location in Brantford, Ontario, and from Sudbury Downs Raceway for a location in Timmins, via teleconference from Kingston.
President Richard Jacob represented Flamboro Downs Raceway from Dundas and Teletheatre Coordinator Jason Hines represented Sudbury Downs Raceway from Sudbury. Manager, Information Services Wendy Hoogeveen represented the Administration in Toronto.
Upon hearing the submissions, the Ontario Racing Commission approved a teletheatre licence as follows:
Licensee: Flamboro Downs Raceway
Site: 7 Erie Avenue, Brantford, Ontario
Site Operator: 1424410 Ontario Ltd. known as Shoeless Joes
effective May 8, 2002.
Licensee: Sudbury Downs Raceway
Site: 99 Algonquin Avenue East, Timmins, Ontario
Site Operator: Ron Birkett known as The Winners Circle
effective April 20, 2002, subject to the receipt of new photographs of the completed renovation and receipt of the new liquor license within 120 days of the issuance of this licence.
At the hearing the Ontario Racing Commission cancelled the following teletheatre licences:
Licensee: Sudbury Downs Raceway
Site: The Maple Leaf Hotel
80 Balsam Street South, Timmins, Ontario
Site : Kenwood Hotel
15 Chipman Street, Kenora, Ontario
