COMMISSION HEARING TORONTO, ONTARIO – September 27, 2000
IN THE MATTER OF THE RACING COMMISSION ACT, R.S.O. 1990, c. R2;
AND IN THE MATTER OF A HEARING INTO TELETHEATRE OPERATIONS:
On September 27, 2000, Chair Stanley Sadinsky, Q.C. convened to hear applications for teletheatre licensing from Barrie Raceway and Sudbury Downs Raceway via teleconferencing in Kingston. Wendy Hoogeveen appeared for the Administration in Toronto.
By telephone from Barrie, Jane Rees represented Barrie Raceway and from Chelmsford, Mike McKee represented Sudbury Downs Raceway. From Markham, Lou Liebenau represented the Ontario Harness Horse Association on the Barrie application.
Upon hearing the submissions, the Ontario Racing Commission approved teletheatre licences as follows:
Licensee: Barrie Raceway
Site: Box 178, Rama Road, Rama, Ontario L0K 1B0
Site Operator: Casino Rama Services Inc. known as Casino Rama
effective a date to be determined upon advice from Barrie Raceway.
Licensee: Sudbury Downs Raceway
Site: 320 Bay Street, Sault Ste. Marie, Ontario P6A 1X1
Site Operator: 1022160 Ontario Limited, known as Cellar Tap Brew Pub & Grill
effective October 2, 2000.
The Ontario Racing Commission cancelled the following teletheatre licence:
