DECISION OF THE TRIBUNAL: June 4, 2025

[1]. This is an application under the Pay Equity Act, R.S.O. 1990, c.P.7, as amended, (“the Act”). In this application, the applicant submits that the respondent has failed to comply with its order issued on May 10, 2023 requiring the respondent to take certain steps, including conducting job evaluations and paying adjustments, to bring it into compliance with the Act. The respondent acknowledges its obligations under the Act and submits that it is in the process of taking the necessary steps to meet these obligations. However, the respondent submits that, given the unique circumstances of the organization, it will require additional time to complete this process.

[2]. The parties appeared before the Tribunal on May 23, 2025 for a pre-hearing conference. The parties agreed to attempt to reach a settlement regarding timelines for the respondent to reach compliance with the Act, failing which the matter will proceed to hearing. The respondent undertook to provide a draft settlement proposal to the applicant by May 30, 2025.

[3]. The Registrar is directed to set September 26, 2025 for a hearing in this matter. This matter will be heard by video hearing.
