Decision
These are applications under the Pay Equity Act, R.S.O. 1990, c.P.7, as amended, (“the Act”).
The parties have agreed that a sole presiding officer can hear these matters. The parties appeared before the Tribunal on June 2, 2022. Pursuant to an agreement dated April 25, 2022, this date was used to resolve procedural matters.
In these matters, the applicants will file signed witness statements from each witness who they intend to call. Those witness statements shall be filed with the Tribunal electronically by no later than July 22, 2022.
Also, by July 22, 2022, the parties shall file all of the documents that they intend to rely upon with the Tribunal.
When each witness will be sworn in and asked if what is contained in the witness statement is true to the best of their knowledge. Once they accept the statement, or make corrections as needed, that will serve as their direct examination. The witnesses will then be subject to cross examination as normal.
The Registrar is directed to set September 8, 9, and 28, 2022, and January 10, 12, and 19, 2023 as hearing dates in this matter. This matter will be heard by video hearing.
