DECISION OF THE TRIBUNAL: August 29, 2014
This is a referral by the Pay Equity Office under subsection 24(5) of the Pay Equity Act, R.S.O. 1990, c.P.7, as amended.
Section 4.2(1) of the Statutory Powers Procedure Act permits a panel of one to decide this matter.
The referral was filed with the Tribunal on July 16, 2014. The respondent’s response would normally have been due by July 30, 2014. However, the Registrar granted the respondent’s request for an extension until September 5, 2014 on the agreement of the parties.
The respondent now seeks a further extension until October 31, 2014.
If the respondent obtains the agreement of the PEO to this latest extension, it shall be deemed to be granted by the Tribunal upon receipt of written correspondence from either party on or before September 5, 2014. Otherwise, in the absence of the agreement of the parties, the Tribunal is not prepared to grant another lengthy extension.
