1The Registrar of the Pay Equity Hearings Tribunal scheduled this matter for a pre-hearing consultation to be held today, February 29, 2012, and provided notice thereof to the parties. By way of decision dated December 11, 2011, the applicant, Sandra Kahu, was advised that, if she failed to attend the pre-hearing consultation, the application would be dismissed.
2When the pre-hearing consultation convened today at 9:30 a.m. Ms. Kahu was not in attendance. The Pay Equity Hearings Tribunal stood down until 10:00 a.m., however, at 10:00 a.m. Ms. Kahu was still not in attendance nor had she contacted the Tribunal to explain her absence.
3Having regard to Ms. Kahu’s failure to attend the pre-hearing consultation and the Tribunal’s having previously advised her that the application would be dismissed if she did not attend, this matter is hereby dismissed.
