DECISION OF THE TRIBUNAL, MAY 13, 2002
By letter dated April 5, 2002, counsel for the Ontario Public Service Employees’ Union (OPSEU) noted that the panel had made two errors in its decision of March 27, 2002. Counsel is correct. We apologize for any inconvenience or delay to the parties and hereby make the following amendments to the decision of March 27, 2002.
In paragraph 2, the second sentence is replaced by the following:
On September 10, 2001, a Review Officer ordered a pay equity plan with an effective date of January 1, 1990 for job classes compared using the job to job method and January 1, 1993 for job classes compared using the proportional value method of comparison.
- In paragraph 5, b(iv) is replaced by the following:
To calculate how rates of pay for female job classes are to be adjusted and to calculate retroactivity in each year, 1% of “payroll” is to be divided by the multiplication of “employees” and “hours paid” or (1% x payroll) ÷ (employees x hours paid). The product of that calculation is the “pay equity adjustment”.
