DECISION OF THE TRIBUNAL, APRIL 17, 2002
Hatts Off Specialized Services (“the Applicant”) has made an Application objecting to an Order of a Review Officer, dated October 30, 2000. None of the employees who may be affected by the Application have filed a Response although the Tribunal understands that pursuant to its direction, notice of the proceedings has been given.
The hearing is scheduled for Thursday, April 18, 2002. By letter dated April 15, 2002, the Applicant has requested that the matter be adjourned. The reasons for the adjournment request are as follows:
We make the request at this time as a result of information which has only recently come to the attention of the Employer and us as counsel. We wish to adjourn this matter, briefly, to consider the necessity of proceeding to hearing before the Tribunal.
- Although the Applicant has not specifically detailed what new information requires the adjournment, we are prepared to grant the request. Since no other party is participating, no one else is inconvenienced. This matter is adjourned for 45 days from the date of this decision. At that time, the Applicant is directed to advise the Tribunal whether or not it intends to proceed with the Application.
Dated at Toronto this 17th day of April 2002.
