1A Case Management Conference (“CMC”) was conducted July 19, 2022, to update the issues canvassed previously in the earlier CMCs.
2An agenda was provided by Gabe Szobel for the City of Toronto.
3The divisions into Hearing Phases, as determined in prior CMCs, are as follows:
4Phase 2 - the Draft by-law is being prepared for submission, to be submitted last week of July 2022.
5Phases 3 and 4 - John Alati’s client has submitted a without prejudice proposal and it is before Council. It was noted that this would be the last Council meeting until January, 2023.
6Cemeteries - there has been no movement on these Appeals, which involve the same issue.
7Parking regulations - once the one Appeal has been resolved and the regulations are in force, most parking Appeals will fall away.
8University of Toronto - the Tribunal Decision issued on June 17, 2022.
9Propane Storage - the City and Calvin Lantz’s client have been attempting to schedule meetings with Suncor. It is anticipated that this could be settled without a Hearing.
10Parking - there is one site-specific Appeal, and others respecting dimensions, not rates. Once the new By-law is in force, other appeals will be reduced.
11Multi –Tenant Housing - nothing further. Council has deferred this issue.
12Places of Worship - no movement. This involves both parking issues as well as a few use issues, especially in the eastern areas of the City.
13School Boards - continued discussions – close to resolution, perhaps by year end.
14Site-Specific Appeals - still proceeding to sort them out, with many close to a solution.
15The City has suggested a further CMC for updates or for potential settlements. The Tribunal has arranged for a CMC to proceed by video on Tuesday, December 6, 2022 to commence at 10 a.m.
