Summary:
ALFANO – Penalty – Revocation – Having earlier found that the Paralegal had engaged in most of the alleged practice misconduct and some, but not all, of the integrity misconduct, the hearing resumed to consider penalty and costs – In addition to the found misconduct, the panel concluded that his deliberate licensing dishonesty went to the heart of his professional obligations of integrity, probity and trustworthiness – The Paralegal’s licence was revoked and he was ordered to pay $150,000 in costs to the Law Society.
REASONS FOR DECISION ON PENALTY AND COSTS
1Barbara J. Murchie (for the panel):– The Law Society seeks revocation of Mr. Alfano’s licence to provide paralegal services on account of our findings in [Law Society of Ontario v Alfano](https://www.canlii.org/en/on/onlst/doc/2025
