DECISION OF THE BOARD; August 7, 2001
1By letter dated July 24, 2001, the Registrar advised the parties that August 21, 2001 had been set for a continuation of this matter. By letter dated August 2, 2001, counsel for the applicants advises that this date causes significant difficulty to the applicants because of the unavailability of counsel and potential difficulty subpoenaing witnesses on short notice, one of whom is in Alberta.
2Counsel requests an adjournment to certain dates in October and advises that counsel for the Ministry of Labour has agreed to those dates. The Board agrees with the applicants that it would be exceedingly difficult for the applicants to be required to contact all of individual complainants and obtain their agreement on new dates.
3Having regard to the circumstances, the Board directs that the August 21, 2001 hearing date shall be cancelled and that this matter shall be adjourned to October 18 and October 19, 2001, and will take place at the "Board Room", 2nd Floor, 505 University Avenue, Toronto, Ontario, commencing at 9:30 a.m. These dates should give the individual complainants sufficient time to order their affairs in order to attend.
