DECISION OF THE BOARD; June 8, 2001
This is an application under section 21, 22 or 23 of the Public Sector Labour Relations Transition Act, 1997 (the "Act").
Having regard to the agreement of the parties as to, inter alia, the appropriate bargaining unit, the Board directs that a representation vote be taken of the individuals in the following voting constituency:
all employees of the Municipality of Greenstone, save and except CAO/Town Manager, Executive Secretary, Economic Development Officer, Director of Public Works, Manager-Finance and Administration, Manager-Protective Services, Manager-Social Services, Recreation Director, Office Managers, Geraldton, Longlas, Beardmore, Nakina Sectors, Clerk/Deputy Treasurer, Day Care Supervisor – Geraldton, Airport Manager Family Resource Centre Supervisor.
The vote will be held on June 14, 2001. Other vote arrangements will be as directed by the Registrar and set out on the attached Notice of Vote and of Hearing.
The parties have agreed upon a voter’s list. All employees of the applicant in the voting constituency are eligible to vote, if their names are on the voters’ list.
Voters will be asked to indicate whether they wish to be represented by CUPE Local 3405 or IWA Canada Local 2693 in their employment relations with the applicant.
The applicant is directed to post copies of this decision and of the "Notice of Vote and of Hearing" adjacent to the "Notice to Employees of Filing of Application under Section 21, 22 and/or 23 of the Act". These copies must remain posted for 30 days.
Any party or person who wishes to make representations to the Board relating to the conduct or the outcome of the vote must file written submission with the Board, and deliver such submission to the other parties within 7 days (excluding Saturdays, Sundays and Board holidays) of the date on which the vote is taken.
This panel of the Board is not seized with this matter.
